Posted on April 27th, 2009 by Matt Sampson - Colorado Web Solutions

A little over a month ago, we announced the limited availability of a Free Trial Offer on our Yahoo Store SEO Service at www.15SEO.com. The response was enormous. It’s been a little over a month now and I wanted to share a few tidbits about what we’ve seen in the numbers for this group of first month subscribers. The second month of reports are coming out this week and here’s a few facts we’ve seen in the data thus far:

  • Not One Site dropped in SEO Rankings
  • Not One Site remained unchanged in SEO Rankings
  • Every Single Site rose in their organic listings
  • Our clients during the month of April rose an average of 137 positions in the major search engines

The 90 Minute SEO Experiment – Yahoo Store Traction

Posted on April 22nd, 2009 by Matt Sampson - Colorado Web Solutions

Ninety Minutes. That’s all it took. My hat goes off to Google for winning the race between them and Yahoo!. It only took us 90 minutes to get indexed in google…

Background: In case you missed the last post, I essentially found a search term “Yahoo Store Traction” that had no organic listing results. I then posted a short blog post using that term (yahoo store traction) in the post. I published the post and waited. Now you are caught up, but if you’d like to read the first post, it can be read here.

The Results: It took Google.com 90 minutes to index a post we made in our blog. That’s incredible. We took a term (yahoo store traction) that returned zero results at 9:45 in the morning and by making one post about it in our blog, it was indexed and live in the google results by 11:15 that same day. I’ve attached screen shots below of the before and after from the same day. By the time you read this there will be even more results I assume since I’ve mentioned Yahoo Store Traction a few times already.
See the results for yourself.

SEO Experiment: Yahoo Store Traction

Posted on April 22nd, 2009 by Matt Sampson - Colorado Web Solutions

Be sure to read the follow up post for this experiment with the results here!

For the last few months, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) has been on everyone’s minds because it’s the best way to save money on your online advertising spend. Good SEO work can eventually take the place of many of your paid terms right now and lead to substantial savings. We have been talking to a lot of customers about our 15seo.com program (http://www.15seo.com) and one of the questions that keeps coming up is “how long does it take to get indexed?” That answer varies from site to site, it really depends on a huge number of variables (including the quality of your site), but it got me thinking… how fast is Google at indexing? How long does it take for a page to get listed from a reputable and well indexed site?

Initial yahoo store traction search 4-22-09So, I decided to do an experiment. I have no idea how this will go, it could be a total bust :), but, I have found a term that, when placed in quotes, returns no results on google. That term is “yahoo store traction“.  What I’ve decided to do is post a blog entry right now that contains the term Yahoo Store Traction. I’ll type it a few different ways and I’ve also included it in the title of the post. I’m not going to go overboard, but I am going to make sure that I get that term mentioned a decent number of times. Once that’s been published, I’ll start searching every hour or so in Google for that exact term “yahoo store traction” and we’ll see how long it takes to get listed.

Why am I doing this? What’s my point? It’s very simple. Each and every one of our subscribers at 15SEO.com receives tips and advice from us on a monthly basis. The number one thing we suggest is changing and adding content to the site. In Sentences. At Colorado Web Solutions, we know the incredible importance of fresh content, but now we will have a way to prove it.

Hopefully, in the next few days if anyone happens to search for “yahoo store traction”, they will get a result and it will be ours.
